The mission of the Licking River Kennel Club is “to promote the quality of life for our canine friends through training and community involvement.” Starting with the provision of the first Newark Canine Police Dogs and the Licking River Kennel Club Drill Team (19XX), our organization maintains a strong commitment to providing canine services throughout our community.

Licking River Kennel Club
Connecting with the local community is a core initiative of the Licking River Kennel Club. We are excited to engage in opportunities with the local community to educate the public on topics such as responsible dog ownership and canine competition. Twice each year, the Licking River Kennel Club provides training opportunities for dog/handler teams to participate in the nationally-recognized AKC Canine Good Citizen and Therapy Dog International programs. Throughout the year, we also hold specialized events where participants can “Meet the Breed” or learn about other areas of canine practice, such as Nosework, dog first aid or competitive canine sports.

Licking River Kennel Club
Each year the Licking River Kennel Club conducts their Annual Dog Show; an AKC recognized sporting events for AKC registered dogs. This annual event includes canine competitions such as Conformation, Obedience, and Rally Obedience. Dog/Handler teams from all-over the country attend this event to compete for AKC titles and championships.
